For almost all residential weeping tile systems, we use 4 inch weeping tile which is a corrugated and perforated drainage pipe that gets installed beside the exterior footings. It is designed to collect subsurface ground water and direct the water in to a sump liner.

Elms Weeping Tile highly recommends upgrading regular 4 inch weeping tile to include a filter sock-especially if you have sandy/silty soil conditions. This filter sock prevents small particles getting in to the weeping tile causing an obstruction in the tile or sump.
